Emma

Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. After moving to Oxfordshire at the age of five, Emma enrolled at The Dragon School. Emma was inspired to be an actor in the age of six. Over the course of several years she was a student at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. She learned to sing dance, acting and singing. By the time she turned 10, Emma had taken part in multiple Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Casting began in 1999 for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the movie adaptation of British author J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was found by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theater teacher. After eight continuous auditions, producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they had been cast as the three lead characters Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut on the big screen in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001. It was also the biggest and most successful film in 2001. The opening days and weekends of the sales were unbeatable. Reviewers have been highly acclaimed of the film and the performances by the three main young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an important British newspaper, called Emma's performance "amazing". Emma took home the Young Artist Award as the most outstanding young actor in part of a feature Film. She was later recognized five times in recognition of her work in the film.
