Maggie Grace was born Margaret Grace Denig in September 21 in 1983. She is an American actor best known for her character Shannon Rutherford in ABC TV series Lost. Born in Worthington Ohio she dropped out of high school and moved in Los Angeles with her mother following her divorce from her parents. Her first role came to her as Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001, despite having a difficult time financially. The film for television Murder in Greenwich where she played a 15-year-old Martha Moxley earned her the nomination for a Young Artist Award. Grace was Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television series in 2004. The show featured her as the principal character for two seasons and won an award for her performance, a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace left the show in order to concentrate on her professional film work. She had starred alongside Tom Welling opposite in The Fog back in 2005. She appeared as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken the year 2008) on Suburban Girl as well as the Jane Austen Book Club. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). The actress also appeared in Alice on Malice in Wonderland which is the modern-day interpretation that the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to Shannon's character on Lost for two episodes, which included the series final. The year 2013 saw Grace appear in the episode Californianation of the 6th season. She plays Faith as a groupie, and also a muse to the stars, who catches the attention of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal clan as well as the older sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. In her early teens, she played small parts in films made by her father. She also co-starred with her older twin brother on Donnie Darko the famous cult film. In 2002, she was featured as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Also, she appeared on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics for her performance in the romantic erotic comedy Secretary (2002) and the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) each of which brought her the Golden Globe Award nomination. The Dark Knight, which came out in 2008 following many highly successful movies, such as World Trade Center (2006) and World Trade Center (2006), earned Gyllenhaal more fame. In recognition of her role as an unmarried mother, in Crazy Heart (2009) she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. The following year, she starred in dramatics and comedies: Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Won't Back Down (2012). Her other roles include an agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013), a Secret Service agent in the action thriller White House Down (2013) a musician in Frank (2014) and her role as the lead in the drama The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal made her debut as a writer and director in 2021 with her psycho-drama The Lost Daughter. For the film, she won an award for the Best Screenplay Award at the Venice International Film Festival and received nominations for the Academy Award.
